You experience emotions by bodily actions, unless you pent them up. Verbalization of pent up emotions is an effective form of relief and therapy. Psychologists use it as their main form of therapy for patients. It often helps to have a close friend that you can share problems with, who is willing to listen, offer some advice and who can be trusted to keep it confidential. By far the most important component of personality is the unconscious mind. Our dreams are seen as an especially true source of repressed material and the analysis of a patient’s dreams reveal subconscious thoughts and even different character traits. We also subconsciously solve many of our problems in dreams.
